EIGHT K (5M), 5K (3.1M), 5K Team, 5K Walk (3.1M) & 100M Dash

Start your race weekend off by joining us on Saturday, December 13th! Saturday’s events will include the all-new EIGHT K, a 5K, a 5-person 5K Team Challenge and a 100-meter dash for kids! Part of the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival, all Saturday events will start & finish in Downtown Dallas, providing great views of the city. Whether a shakeout run for Sunday or to experience the joy of participating in marathon weekend at a shorter distance, these events are the perfect way to start the weekend off right.

EIGHT K (5M) (8:00am)
This approximate 5-mile course offers great city views through Downtown Dallas and Deep Ellum before returning home!
5K / 5K Team (3.1M) (8:10am)
This fast 3.1 mile course takes you through the heart of Downtown and into Deep Ellum with minimal turns before heading for the finish!
The 5K Team event will be the cumulative time of the 5 runners with 3 divisions to enter: all female team, all male team and a co-ed team (must have at least 2 female or 2 male runners). Please note, the team captain will need to pick up all of the team’s participant shirts at the Health & Fitness Expo on Friday, 12/13.
5K Walk (3.1M) (8:15am)
We are excited to offer a 5K walking event which will start separately from the 5K run. Walkers will get to enjoy the same 5K course in a more relaxed environment!
Kid’s 100M Dash (10:00am)
Kids ages 6 and under are welcome to participate free of charge in our 100-meter dash. Parents are welcome to accompany their registered child!
Oncor Kid’s Race (2-Mile Run or Walk) (11:00am)
All DISD students are able to participate free of charge thanks to our partner Oncor! Registration forms will be made available at your school starting in September. For additional questions, please reach out to us at info@dallasmarathon.com.
In accordance with the guidelines issued by USA Track & Field and Wheelchair Sports USA, only runners, walkers and wheelchair participants will be allowed on the course. See the official rules for a complete list of course guidelines. The time limit is 1 hour for the 5K and 2 hours for the EIGHT K (20-minute per mile pace or better).
Single-day options include Saturday, December 13th (6:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.) and Sunday, December 14th (6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.); 2-day passes are also available
