BMW Dallas Marathon, White Rhino Coffee, Snarf’s Sandwiches Partner With OurCalling to Create a Place of Care and Community for Neighbors Experiencing Homelessness

DALLAS — On race day, Sunday, Dec. 14, as thousands line the streets for the BMW Dallas Marathon, OurCalling will open its doors from 7 a.m. to noon for a special event to welcome neighbors experiencing homelessness. After watching how challenging marathon weekend can be for people living on the streets, OurCalling, the BMW Dallas Marathon, Snarf’s Sandwiches and White Rhino Coffee are coming together with one shared goal: create a warm, safe place where people can be cared for and connected to resources.

During a weekend that fills downtown with crowds, road closures and early-morning activity, many individuals experiencing homelessness are left without a place to go. This effort is a community-driven response.

White Rhino is donating coffee and pastries to help guests start the morning with warmth and comfort. Snarf’s Sandwiches will provide a fresh, hot lunch. Throughout the morning, guests can spend time indoors enjoying games, movies, a church service and meaningful connections with one another.

The BMW Dallas Marathon is also collecting gently used shoes during packet pickup leading up to race day, offering additional support for individuals served by OurCalling.

“Race weekend brings incredible energy to our city, but it also means many of our neighbors on the streets are displaced,” said Juliana Williams, Chief Advancement Officer at OurCalling. “Thanks to the BMW Dallas Marathon and our partners, we’re creating a place where our neighbors can enjoy warmth, good food and community. This is what Dallas is about. We see a need, come together, and take action to care for our neighbors.”
