Expanded recycling footprint brings sustainability to the streets of Dallas during one of the city’s most iconic races.
DENTON, Texas [Nov. 18, 2025] – Tetra Pak, a global leader in sustainable food and beverage packaging and processing solutions, is strengthening its commitment to the planet as it returns to the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival as the Finish Line Water Sponsor and, for the first time, the event’s official Recycling Sponsor.
Building on several years of work with the marathon, Tetra Pak is expanding its sustainability presence throughout race weekend, helping runners and spectators recycle their beverage cartons and other waste responsibly and learn more about the benefits of proper recycling.
Across the marathon footprint, Tetra Pak will feature three branded recycling stations, each equipped with two recycling receptacles and one landfill receptacle, offering clear opportunities for participants and visitors to recycle their cartons properly. With six dedicated recycling bins placed throughout the event space, Tetra Pak will facilitate recycling at the Dallas City Hall Plaza during race weekend from Friday through Sunday, Dec. 12–14.
Educational signage at each station will share information about carton recycling and feature a QR code directing visitors to additional resources, including an online recycling station locator. Through these on-site experiences, Tetra Pak is helping demonstrate how collective action can make a measurable difference for local communities and the environment.
“Dallas is home to one of the most celebrated marathons in the country, and we are proud to expand our presence to educate the community about recycling and help make this year’s race both inspiring and impactful,” said Jason Pelz, vice president of sustainability for Tetra Pak U.S. and Canada. “Each step runners take toward the finish line, and every carton recycled along the way, helps move us all closer to a more sustainable future.”
Every participant will receive a Tetra Pak® water carton at the finish line, which can be recycled in clearly marked bins across City Hall Plaza and other key festival areas. Runners will also find educational information inside their race packets to learn more about carton recycling and how to locate recycling programs near them.
Tetra Pak’s continued sponsorship of the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival reflects its commitment to making sustainability part of everyday life, one recyclable carton at a time. For more information about Tetra Pak’s sustainability initiatives and carton recycling, visit www.tetrapakusa.com.
